The Comité works to ensure the enduring recognition of his work, both in France and internationally, while safeguarding the integrity of his oeuvre and the quality of its presentation. It supports research, encourages the development of exhibitions, works closely with cultural institutions, and contributes to a deeper understanding of Bernard Buffet’s artistic legacy. It also oversees the clarification and protection of the artist’s body of work.
Guided by a commitment to rigorous standards and to transmission, the Comité takes a long-term approach, preserving the artist’s legacy while ensuring that his work continues to resonate with present and future generations.
Overview
The Comité Bernard Buffet is a foundation dedicated to the study, preservation and promotion of Bernard Buffet’s work and legacy.
It brings together the artist’s rights holders alongside professionals from the worlds of art and culture, united by a shared commitment to ensuring a serious, well-documented and rigorous approach to his oeuvre.
The Comité works closely with institutions, museums, foundations, researchers and collectors, both in France and internationally. It supports exhibition projects, artwork loans, publications and research, and oversees the examination of works attributed to the artist in order to safeguard their authenticity and the coherence of his body of work.
Through its activities, the Comité Bernard Buffet seeks to provide a clear and authoritative point of reference, fostering sustained dialogue around Bernard Buffet’s work and its continued recognition.
